USM | TeleMedicine Simulations Course – October 9-10, 2017
GTI Telemedicine Training Programs
TeleHealth has changed the way we think about healthcare delivery and how providers interact with our patients. It supports innovations in health, as well as healthcare delivery, health education, and distribution of health related information such as medical records. As the use of this technology expands, providers must be prepared by having the appropriate skills and training to manage these patient populations with high-quality outcomes.
This 2-day course provides entry-level providers exposure to the fundamentals of Telemedicine, Rules & Regulations, Internet Fundamentals, Technology Troubleshooting, EHR and patient scenarios. The course provides 16 patient scenarios in our simulation laboratory for applying what you have learned in the classroom. Patient scenarios include primary care, urgent care, and psychiatric mental health encounters. Competency measurements include pre- and post- tests followed by Simulation Video Assessments and debriefing.
Continuing Education Units (CEU) will be awarded for completion of the course including a GTI Certificate of Completion for Skills Validation.
